Sagger Raku Vase 2
Handcrafted Sagger raku vase, titled Passion.
This Raku collection lives as an artistic expression of the human experience—each vessel is marked with an emotion, one that I was experiencing, pondering or longing for as I created.
I challenged myself then not to hide behind positive emotions or delightful words, but to create in honesty and confidence that after all—feelings are fleeting.
About Sagger Raku firing
A unique and unpredictable method, during a Sagger Raku firing each piece is wrapped inside a foil sagger along with natural materials, each vessel becomes its own small universe inside the kiln. As the heat builds these materials vaporize, leaving behind markings and hues that can never be repeated.
The result is a surface that feels alive, raw and emotive—an honest record of what it means to be changed.
A note on use
Sagger Raku fired pieces remain porous and cannot hold water. Best for dry treasures, blooms, or simply as a vessel of presence.
